2027: Tinubu’s Reelection Non-Negotiable For Nigeria’s Prosperity, National Unity — Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on northern-based professionals in Nigeria’s creative industry to support President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid in the 2027 general elections.

Shettima made the call on Wednesday during a meeting with a delegation of northern performing artists under the auspices of Triple-R for Renewed Hope at the All Progressives Congress campaign office in Abuja.

The Vice President said Tinubu deserved the collective support of the North, arguing that the administration’s policies were creating opportunities for young people and professionals in the creative sector.

He said the government would continue to support artists, filmmakers and musicians in the region through initiatives aimed at developing the creative economy, preserving cultural heritage and creating employment opportunities.

Shettima also urged the delegation to remain committed to the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying the benefits of ongoing reforms would continue to emerge across different sectors of the economy.

According to him, supporting the administration was important to sustaining the policies and programmes already introduced by the government.

The Vice President’s remarks came as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, with the governing APC and opposition parties seeking to mobilise support across the country.

Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, said the administration’s performance would be central to the campaign for Tinubu’s reelection.

Yari urged supporters to focus on what he described as the government’s achievements while dismissing claims that the North had been excluded from federal appointments and development projects.

Former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari, who is also a member of the campaign council, called on creative industry professionals to support APC candidates across the region.

Former Kano State Governor and APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, also thanked the group for its support and urged them to promote justice, fairness and inclusiveness.

The President of Triple-R for Renewed Hope, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, pledged the group’s support for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the North.

The group also appealed to the Federal Government to provide more infrastructure, training opportunities and other forms of support for creative professionals in northern Nigeria.

Shettima has previously called for political maturity and tolerance ahead of the 2027 elections, while urging Nigerians to prioritise national unity and peaceful political engagement.
