2027: Tinubu Deserves Second Term To Consolidate Reforms — Yilwatda
APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda says Tinubu deserves another term to deepen economic reforms and translate them into prosperity.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term in office to consolidate his administration’s economic reforms and advance Nigeria’s development.
Yilwatda made the statement on Saturday, October 24, 2026, during the flag-off of the APC presidential campaign at the Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna State, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and the ruling party’s preparedness for the forthcoming election, urging Nigerians to support the president’s efforts to address longstanding economic challenges.
According to the APC chairman, the administration has demonstrated the political will to take difficult decisions aimed at strengthening the economy, improving infrastructure and creating conditions for sustainable growth.
Yilwatda said the party’s campaign would focus on the administration’s achievements, ongoing reforms and plans for the country’s future.
He argued that the government should be given additional time to consolidate its policies and ensure that their benefits translate into improved living conditions for Nigerians.
“The task before us is to consolidate the gains, deepen the reforms and ensure that the promise of Renewed Hope translates into greater opportunities, improved livelihoods and shared prosperity for our people,” Yilwatda said.
He added that the president deserved the opportunity to complete the work his administration had started and move the country towards its development objectives.
The APC chairman also described the party as united and prepared for the 2027 contest, citing political realignments involving members and stakeholders from different parties as part of the broader political discussions surrounding Tinubu’s leadership.
During the event, Yilwatda presented APC flags to seven governors from the North-West seeking re-election. They included Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Abba Yusuf of Kano, Dikko Radda of Katsina, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara.
The campaign flag-off was attended by Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, governors, ministers, lawmakers and other party leaders.
The endorsement comes amid continued national debate over the impact of the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms, including petrol subsidy removal and foreign exchange adjustments. While the government has defended the measures as necessary to address structural weaknesses, households and businesses continue to face concerns over living costs.
The APC is expected to campaign on its record in office and its plans for the next administration as political activities intensify ahead of the presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027.
