2027: Makinde Appoints Ex-Aviation Minister Campaign DG

The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed former Minister of State for Aviation, Felix Hassan Hyat, as Director-General of the National Campaign Management Committee of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation.

The appointment was announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by Anthony Ehilebo, Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication.

Hyat, a former Kaduna State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, is expected to lead the campaign’s national management structure as the APM prepares for the 2027 presidential election.

The campaign organisation also announced the appointment of former Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Inna Ciroma, as Deputy Director-General, Administration, while Dr Anthony Aziegbemi was named Deputy Director-General, Operations.

According to the campaign, the appointments are intended to bring together individuals with experience in political strategy, administration, mobilisation and grassroots engagement.

Hyat’s responsibilities will include coordinating the campaign’s national operations and mobilisation as the party promotes its “Reset Nigeria” message ahead of the election.

Makinde also announced several other appointments to the campaign management structure.

Alhaji Hamza Akuyam Koshe was appointed Director of Contact and Mobilisation, while Barrister Mark Jacob will serve as Director of Legal and Compliance.

Dr Ade Adeagbo was named Director of Administration and Strategy, and Hon. Richard Ihediwa was appointed Director of Strategic Communications.

Alhaji Yusuf Ismaila Alkali will oversee Finance, while Dr Emmanuel Dennis was appointed Director of Volunteers, Special Interests and Support Groups.

Other areas covered by the campaign structure include security and intelligence, women and youth coordination, monitoring and documentation.

The campaign leadership is expected to work with APM National Leader and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, National Chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantalle and other party leaders to coordinate activities across the country.

Makinde, who is running for president with former State Security Service Director-General Lawal Daura as his running mate, has in recent weeks intensified preparations for the 2027 election, including nationwide consultations and the unveiling of his “Reset Nigeria” agenda.
