President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday officially commissioned the new Corporate Headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service in Abuja, marking a key milestone in the ongoing restructuring of the country’s tax administration system.
The commissioning ceremony also signified the transition from the former Federal Inland Revenue Service to the newly restructured agency.
In a video shared by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, the President praised the agency’s performance and formally declared the building open, describing it as a symbol of institutional integrity and progress.
Another video from the event showed Tinubu cutting the ceremonial ribbon, flanked by top government officials including the Chairman of the NRS, Zacch Adedeji, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The President also unveiled and read the commemorative plaque, stating that the structure represents a lasting legacy of transparency and efficiency in revenue administration.
“The corporate headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service was commissioned on April 14, 2026, by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This edifice stands as a lasting symbol of integrity,” he said.
According to Olusegun, the newly commissioned facility features 16 floors across three towers and has the capacity to accommodate about 3,000 employees.
The development forms part of the Tinubu administration’s broader efforts to modernise Nigeria’s tax system and improve revenue generation through institutional reforms.
