"Zero Impact" — Marco Silva Slams Substitutes, Including Chukwueze, After Disappointing Wolves Draw

Marco Silva criticized the impact of his substitutes after Fulham FC’s 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers, singling out second-half changes including Samuel Chukwueze. The Fulham boss said the team lost intensity late on, with the bench failing to provide the energy needed to secure victory in a crucial Premier League clash.

Fulham manager Marco Silva did not hold back his frustration following his side's -1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, openly criticizing the lack of sharpness and commitment from his second-half substitutes, including Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze.

The Cottagers were looking to bolster their late-season European ambitions against a struggling Wolves side but had to rely on a calm penalty from Antonee "Jedi" Robinson just before halftime to rescue a point. Despite controlling large stretches of the match, Fulham completely lost momentum in the final 20 minutes as the game began to stretch.

In an effort to inject fresh energy and secure a winner, Silva introduced a wave of late attacking changes. Among them was Chukwueze, who replaced Manchester City loanee Oscar Bobb on the right flank in the 79th minute, alongside Harry Wilson and Josh King, who were thrown on to revitalize the front line.

However, the tactical adjustments failed to bear fruit, with the incoming players struggling to track back effectively or pose a genuine threat on the counter-attack. The drop in intensity allowed a resilient Wolves side to easily see out the draw, leaving Silva furious with the output from his bench.

"When you are fighting for something important at this stage of the season, the players coming off the bench have to give you a lift, not slow the team down," a visibly frustrated Silva remarked post-match. "The substitutes had zero impact on the game today. We lacked the desire, the intensity, and the defensive focus required to close out a Premier League game on the road. It is a very disappointing result, and the manner in which we let the game drift away in the final minutes is unacceptable."

The public dressing down comes at a critical juncture for both Fulham and Chukwueze. The Nigerian international, who arrived on loan from AC Milan, has registered 3 goals and 4 assists in 23 Premier League appearances this season. However, with the season rapidly drawing to a close and questions lingering over Marco Silva's own future at Craven Cottage, the squad's inability to sustain a competitive edge in crucial match moments has cast a shadow over their end-of-season run.
