Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says he will soon inaugurate campaign teams to support President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid in the FCT and Rivers State.

Wike disclosed this in Abuja on Friday after inspecting the ongoing dualisation of the Kuje-Gwagwalada road.

He said supporters of the President across different political platforms had begun organising their structures ahead of the election, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) was also preparing for what he described as an aggressive campaign.

“Very soon, I will inaugurate the campaign team for Tinubu in the FCT and Rivers, which I will lead,” Wike said.

The minister also linked the administration’s infrastructure projects in the FCT to its electoral campaign, saying completed and ongoing projects would demonstrate the government’s performance to residents.

He expressed confidence that the infrastructure being delivered in the territory would translate into electoral support for Tinubu, as well as candidates seeking legislative seats.

Wike also dismissed anticipated allegations of electoral malpractice in the FCT, arguing that the administration’s development projects would be the basis for its support during the election.

He further assured stakeholders that adequate funding would be provided to facilitate the completion of the Kuje-Gwagwalada road dualisation project by December.

The minister said the delivery of functional infrastructure remained central to governance and public satisfaction, while thanking Tinubu for supporting capital projects in the FCT.
