Wike Promises FCT Road Projects as Tinubu’s Christmas Gift
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has promised to complete major road projects in Abuja by December, describing them as a Christmas gift from President Bola Tinubu to residents.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has promised to deliver several ongoing road projects in Abuja by December, describing them as a Christmas gift from President Bola Tinubu to residents.
Wike made the commitment on Tuesday after inspecting ongoing construction works on Arterial Road N1, from Wuye to Ring Road II; Tungan Madaki to Zuba Road; and Zaudna-Kaba-Kagini to the Kubwa Expressway.
The minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the projects and commended the contractors for their commitment to meeting the completion timelines.
He said the completion of the roads would ease transportation difficulties and stimulate economic activities in communities along the affected corridors.
Wike acknowledged that rainfall had slowed some earthworks but expressed confidence that construction would accelerate as the rainy season subsided.
He said the contractors were committed to the projects and expected work to progress more rapidly from October as rainfall reduced.
Speaking to residents of Tungan Shanu village along the Tungan Madaki to Zuba Road corridor, Wike said efforts would be made to ensure the road was completed by December.
He said the completion of the road would improve the lives of residents and contribute to economic activities in the area.
The minister also addressed residents of Kaba along the Kagini to Kubwa Expressway corridor, assuring them that the road would be completed within the December target.
Wike urged residents to support President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election and back former FCT Minister Philip Aduda for the FCT Senate seat.
He said the ongoing projects were part of the Federal Government’s efforts to improve infrastructure and promote development within the Federal Capital Territory.
