Trabzonspor Tell Saudis to Pay €30m for Onuachu
Trabzonspor have reportedly demanded €30 million from Al Ahli for Paul Onuachu as the Nigerian considers his future.
Trabzonspor have reportedly set a €30 million asking price for Al Ahli to sign Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu, with the Nigerian forward facing an uncertain future at the Turkish club.
Al Ahli are said to be the strongest suitors for the 32-year-old striker and are expected to hold another meeting with Trabzonspor this week as they seek to negotiate a potential transfer.
Onuachu is reportedly open to leaving the Turkish club, although any move will depend on whether Al Ahli are willing to meet Trabzonspor’s valuation.
The Nigerian returned to Trabzonspor permanently last season after initially spending the 2023/24 campaign at the club on loan from Southampton.
He enjoyed an outstanding return, scoring 26 goals across all competitions. His 22 league goals saw him finish as the Turkish Super Lig’s joint-top scorer alongside Istanbul Basaksehir forward Eldor Shomurodov.
Onuachu also played a crucial role in Trabzonspor’s Turkish Cup success, scoring twice in the 2025 final as his side defeated Konyaspor 2-1 to lift the trophy.
Trabzonspor had previously rejected two offers for the striker and maintained that they wanted to retain their Golden Boot winner.
However, their position is believed to have softened as the club closes in on a possible deal for former Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez from Al Hilal.
If the Nunez transfer is completed, Trabzonspor would have a potential replacement for Onuachu, which could make it easier for the club to approve his departure.
Several clubs have shown interest in the Nigerian forward. Turkish giants Fenerbahce previously considered a move but have reportedly ended their pursuit after turning their attention to Romelu Lukaku, who joined them from Napoli.
Al Hilal could also become a potential destination for Onuachu. The Saudi club recently pursued fellow Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, reportedly making a €130 million offer for the Galatasaray forward.
If Karim Benzema’s reported departure from Al Hilal is completed, the Saudi club could consider alternative attacking options, with Onuachu potentially emerging as a target.
For now, Onuachu remains a Trabzonspor player, but his future could become clearer in the coming days as Al Ahli continue their pursuit.
A move to Saudi Arabia would represent another major chapter in the striker’s career, just one year after he returned to Turkey on a permanent basis.
