Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Primary With 10.9m Votes
President Bola Tinubu has won the APC presidential primary with 10,999,967 votes, defeating Stanley Osifo to secure the ruling party’s ticket for the 2027 general election.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 general election after winning the party’s nationwide primary election with an overwhelming margin.
Results announced during the national collation exercise at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja showed Tinubu securing 10,999,967 votes across the country.
His only challenger, Stanley Osifo, polled 16,504 votes nationwide.
The APC presidential primary was conducted across 8,809 wards in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with governors and senior party officials serving as state coordinators and collation officers.
The Presidential Primary Election Committee chaired by former Senate President Pius Anyim supervised the collation process.
Tinubu recorded dominant victories across all geopolitical zones, particularly in traditional APC strongholds.
In the South-West, he secured 814,988 votes in Lagos, 322,485 in Ogun, 181,996 in Ondo, 142,754 in Oyo, 100,888 in Osun and 85,340 votes in Ekiti State.
The North-West also delivered massive support, with Kaduna returning 618,914 votes, Kano 500,852, Katsina 467,003, Kebbi 292,972, Sokoto 301,000 and Zamfara 321,579 votes.
In the North-Central region, Tinubu polled 374,787 votes in Benue, 310,990 in Kwara, 285,436 in Nasarawa, 241,720 in Plateau, 197,370 in Kogi and 175,487 votes in Niger State. The Federal Capital Territory contributed 36,103 votes.
The president also posted strong results in the South-East and South-South regions. He secured 582,960 votes in Imo, 383,382 in Enugu, 207,579 in Ebonyi, 161,005 in Abia and 43,034 votes in Anambra.
In the South-South, Tinubu recorded 407,646 votes in Delta, 389,197 in Akwa Ibom, 280,082 in Rivers and 227,192 votes in Bayelsa State.
Osifo recorded only scattered votes across a few states, including 1,186 votes in Lagos, 929 in Oyo, 1,007 in Abia and 384 votes in Anambra.
The outcome further consolidates Tinubu’s dominance within the APC as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
