Tinubu Vows No Surrender to Terrorists as Nigerian Govt Intensifies Nationwide Security Operations

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to defeating terrorism, banditry and other forms of criminality, declaring that Nigeria will not surrender to forces threatening national peace and security.

The message was delivered on his behalf by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, during the National Inter-Denominational Church Service held in Abuja as part of the 2026 Democracy Day celebrations.

Akume said the Federal Government remains focused on strengthening security operations across the country and ensuring the safe release of citizens currently held by criminal groups.

He stressed that recent attacks and kidnappings underscore the need for sustained and coordinated action by security agencies to restore stability.

According to him, the government will not bow to intimidation from terrorists or bandits under any circumstance.

He added that protecting lives and property remains a central priority of the Tinubu administration.

The President also acknowledged the economic difficulties facing Nigerians, noting concerns over inflation, insecurity and displacement in several parts of the country.

He assured citizens that ongoing reforms are aimed at improving living conditions and delivering what he described as stronger democratic dividends.

Akume further said the administration is intensifying efforts to address insecurity while also responding to socio-economic challenges affecting households nationwide.

The government reiterated its commitment to supporting security agencies with the resources needed to confront threats and restore confidence in affected communities.
