President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian leaders to place the public good above personal interests, stressing the need for selfless and responsible leadership in the country.

Tinubu made the call while emphasising the importance of service, sacrifice and commitment to national development.

The President said public office should be approached as a responsibility to the people rather than an avenue for personal enrichment.

He urged leaders at all levels to remain focused on improving the lives of Nigerians and strengthening the country’s institutions.

Tinubu’s remarks come as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with politicians and political groups increasingly positioning themselves for the polls.

The President has repeatedly called for leaders to prioritise national development, good governance and the welfare of citizens.
