Tinubu’s Government a “360-Degree Failure” — Atiku
Atiku Abubakar has backed CAN’s security concerns and described President Tinubu’s administration as a “360-degree failure,” urging urgent reforms and broader faith-based pressure over worsening insecurity in Nigeria.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing it as a “360-degree failure” while endorsing the recent security concerns raised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Atiku expressed support for CAN’s position following its National Church Leaders Summit, where the organisation called for a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s security architecture amid rising cases of insecurity, including recent school abductions in Oyo State.
He said the concerns raised by CAN align with his long-held views on the need for stronger intelligence coordination, improved inter-agency cooperation, and greater accountability within the country’s security system.
The former vice president commended the unity shown by Christian denominations in calling for national reflection and mourning over victims of violent attacks and kidnappings.
He also urged other religious groups, particularly Muslim organisations, to join in demanding stronger government action to address insecurity across the country.
Atiku argued that the rising wave of terrorism, banditry, and violent crime demonstrates systemic failure in governance and public safety.
According to him, the situation calls for urgent corrective measures rather than political rhetoric.
“On behalf of the political opposition whom Tinubu has ignored as well as the Nigerian people, I urge Tinubu to listen to this urgent call from CAN,” he said.
His comments add to growing political criticism of the federal government’s handling of security challenges, as opposition figures and civil society groups continue to demand reforms and stronger protection for citizens.
