Tinubu Concludes Saudi Arabia Visit After Performing Umrah
President Bola Tinubu has concluded his visit to Saudi Arabia after performing the Umrah pilgrimage and praying inside the Holy Kaaba, expressing gratitude to the Saudi leadership for granting him and members of his delegation the rare privilege.
President Bola Tinubu has concluded his visit to Saudi Arabia, where he performed the lesser Hajj, known as Umrah, and entered the Holy Kaaba to offer prayers for Nigeria.
The President announced the conclusion of his visit on Monday in a post on his official X account, expressing appreciation to Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and members of his delegation access to the sacred structure.
Tinubu described the opportunity to pray inside the Holy Kaaba as a rare honour, adding that the hospitality extended to the Nigerian delegation reflected the longstanding bonds of faith and friendship between both countries.
He said he used the opportunity to pray for peace, unity and prosperity for Nigeria and its citizens.
The President also expressed gratitude to the Saudi authorities for their hospitality and support throughout the visit.
Tinubu departed Abuja for Makkah on October 29, accompanied by some state governors, cabinet ministers and members of the business community.
The visit was primarily undertaken to perform the Islamic pilgrimage and seek divine guidance for Nigeria's stability and continued development.
The Presidency had earlier announced that the President would return to Nigeria the following week after completing the religious exercise.
The trip marked another religious visit by Tinubu to Saudi Arabia since assuming office in May 2023.
