Tinubu Celebrates Wife at 66, Calls Her Truest Friend, Confidante

President Bola Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante.”

In a birthday message issued on Sunday, Tinubu praised Oluremi for her patience, courage, compassion and unwavering support throughout their years together.

The President addressed his wife as “Oluremi mi” and said she had stood beside him through different seasons of his life, sharing his burdens and offering counsel during moments.

Tinubu also quoted the Yoruba proverb, “Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀,” meaning that a good wife is her husband’s crown, while referencing the biblical description of a virtuous woman.

He said Oluremi had given meaning to those words through her devotion to their family.

According to the President, his wife often understood his concerns even when he could not express them, and her calmness and prayers had helped him during periods of uncertainty.

Tinubu described her as his “truest friend and confidante,” stressing that she was willing to tell him truths even when he would rather not hear them.

He also praised her role in raising their children and grandchildren, saying they had grown under the influence of her prayers.

Beyond the family, Tinubu highlighted Oluremi’s humanitarian activities through the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative.

He said her interventions had reached young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers, while also supporting people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases.

The President said her compassion had crossed ethnic, regional and religious boundaries.

Reflecting on their marriage, Tinubu said their journey had included decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayer. He added that the experiences had strengthened their bond.

He said that if life returned him to the beginning, he would choose the same road that led him to Oluremi.

“Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” he said.

Tinubu thanked the First Lady for the life they had built together and prayed that God would grant her many more years in good health and happiness.

He concluded his tribute by wishing his wife a 66th birthday and expressing his gratitude for the love and support she had given him and their family.
