Tinubu Arrives In Akwa Ibom for Project Inaugurations, APC Rally
President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Uyo to inaugurate projects completed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration and attend an APC rally ahead of the 2027 general elections.
President Bola Tinubu on Friday arrived in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for a working visit featuring the inauguration of infrastructure projects and a political rally organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The President departed Abuja earlier in the day for a two-state visit to Akwa Ibom and Rivers states, as the ruling party intensifies its mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He was received at the Victor Attah International Airport by Governor Umo Eno, government officials, APC leaders and supporters who gathered to welcome him.
During the visit, Tinubu is expected to inaugurate several projects completed by the Eno administration, including the new International Terminal Building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village, all situated at the Victor Attah International Airport.
Other projects scheduled for inauguration include the Airport-Okopedi Road, which connects communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, and Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
The President is also expected to commission the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
Following the inauguration ceremonies, Tinubu is scheduled to attend an APC rally at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Governor Eno had declared Friday a work-free day across the state to enable residents to participate in activities marking the presidential visit.
After his engagements in Akwa Ibom, the President is expected to travel to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday for another APC rally.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said the Rivers event would be Tinubu’s third campaign rally since he formally launched his re-election campaign in Kaduna State last month.
The two-state visit is also expected to provide opportunities for the President to engage political stakeholders, party members and supporters, while promoting unity and political stability.
Tinubu’s appearances in the South-South come as the APC expands its political activities ahead of the 2027 polls.
