Terrorists Attack Zamfara Communities, Force Residents From Homes

Terrorist attacks in communities across Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State have displaced residents and heightened concerns over worsening insecurity in the area.

The development was highlighted during a campaign movement by the All Progressives Congress in the affected communities, where residents protested the worsening security situation.

The residents reportedly rejected the APC campaign team, saying insecurity had become overwhelming and that both the Federal and state governments had failed to adequately protect them.

Some community members reportedly stoned the campaign team during the protest.

The protesters alleged that more than 100 people from the area were being held in terrorists’ camps and questioned why efforts had not secured their release.

The communities said the persistent attacks had disrupted normal life and forced residents to abandon their homes.

Residents also expressed frustration over the impact of insecurity on their livelihoods and ability to move freely within the affected areas.

The development adds to the growing security concerns in Zamfara, where armed groups have continued to attack communities, abduct residents and disrupt farming and commercial activities.

The situation has also contributed to the displacement of residents, with some communities becoming increasingly deserted as people flee attacks and seek safer locations.

The protests underscore growing demands from affected communities for stronger security measures and urgent intervention to protect lives and property.
