Soludo’s Wife Wins Africa Future Leadership Award
Anambra First Lady Nonye Soludo will receive the Public Health Innovation Award for promoting preventive healthcare and healthy living.
The wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has been named a recipient of the Public Health Innovation Award at the Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards.
The recognition honours her efforts to promote preventive healthcare, community health education and healthy lifestyles through her Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative.
According to an announcement by the organisers, Soludo will receive the award at the 11th edition of the conference and awards ceremony scheduled for November 20, 2026, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos.
The initiative, founded by the Anambra First Lady, promotes healthy nutrition, physical fitness, personal hygiene and preventive healthcare among residents of the state.
Its activities include public awareness campaigns, menstrual hygiene education and programmes designed to encourage healthier habits among women, children and young people.
The initiative also seeks to take practical health information beyond hospitals and healthcare facilities by engaging communities and encouraging individuals to take greater responsibility for their wellbeing.
The award organisers said the Africa Future Leadership Conference and Awards recognises individuals and organisations whose contributions have supported leadership, innovation and development across the continent.
Soludo’s recognition highlights the growing role of community-based health education in complementing conventional medical services and helping people prevent avoidable illnesses.
Her Healthy Living initiative has continued to promote lifestyle changes through public engagement and educational activities across Anambra State.
The award is another recognition for the Anambra First Lady, who recently received the 2026 National Leadership Conference Award for Excellence in Social Impact Leadership from the GOTNI Leadership Centre.
That award acknowledged her contributions to social development, humanitarian activities and community-based health initiatives.
The Africa Future Leadership Conference is expected to bring together leaders and stakeholders from different sectors to discuss leadership, innovation and development challenges across Africa.
Soludo’s Public Health Innovation Award will be presented at the November ceremony in Lagos.
