Soludo’s Wife Condemns Alleged Sexual Abuse of Child in Anambra

The Anambra First Lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, has condemned the alleged sexual abuse and exploitation of a child by her supposed mother in Onitsha, calling for firm action to protect vulnerable children.

The development followed the arrest of a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, by the Anambra State Police Command over an alleged child abuse case.

The police said the arrest followed the circulation of a disturbing video allegedly showing a woman sexually abusing a minor.

According to the police, four children, aged two, three, six and nine, were rescued during the operation, while sex toys and other items relevant to the investigation were recovered.

Reacting to the incident, Soludo said no child deserved to experience such trauma and that society must never tolerate the abuse of children.

She said children should be protected, loved and provided with a safe environment to grow, rather than being subjected to sexual exploitation or any other form of abuse.

The First Lady, who is also the founder of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, said the Anambra State Government remained firmly opposed to violence, abuse and exploitation involving women and children.

She pledged continued support for measures aimed at protecting children and ensuring that perpetrators of abuse were held accountable.

Soludo also expressed concern over the rescue of the four children and stressed the need for thorough investigation and appropriate support for victims.

The police investigation into the case is ongoing.
