Sanwo-Olu: Tinubu’s APC Primary Win Shows Trust in Leadership
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, describing the outcome as a strong vote of confidence in his leadership ahead of 2027.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sanwo-Olu described Tinubu’s victory at the party’s presidential primaries as a reflection of the continued trust and confidence APC members have in his leadership and political direction.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, the governor said the outcome of the exercise demonstrated unity within the ruling party.
He commended party officials for what he described as the peaceful and well-organised conduct of the nationwide primaries held across Nigeria’s wards and delegates’ structures.
The statement, signed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, also praised the APC National Working Committee and state executives for ensuring a smooth electoral process.
Sanwo-Olu noted that the outcome of the primary further strengthened the party’s position ahead of the 2027 presidential election, adding that internal democracy remained a key strength of the APC.
He said Tinubu’s leadership had continued to shape governance direction at both national and party levels, especially in areas of economic reform and political stability.
The governor also urged party members to remain united and focused as the APC prepares for the next general election cycle.
He reaffirmed his support for the party’s leadership and expressed confidence that the APC would continue to consolidate its influence across the country under Tinubu’s stewardship.
