Sanwo-Olu Swears In Six Permanent Secretaries, Inaugurates Two Lagos Commissions
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday swore in six newly appointed permanent secretaries and inaugurated members of two state commissions, as his administration seeks to strengthen public service delivery.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday swore in six newly appointed permanent secretaries and inaugurated members of two state commissions, as his administration seeks to strengthen public service delivery.
The ceremony took place at the Banquet Hall of Lagos House, Ikeja, where the governor charged the appointees to demonstrate professionalism, integrity and accountability in discharging their responsibilities.
The six permanent secretaries are Olawale Mahadiyu Adegbite, Folashade Aina Thomas-Orogan, Adebayo Mubashiru Haroun, Olayinka Margret Oye-Bamgbose, Olatunbosun Sunday Ogunbanwo and Bilquees Toyin Adekoya.
Their appointments bring the number of permanent secretaries appointed under Sanwo-Olu’s administration to 135, according to a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
The governor also inaugurated members of the Lagos State Audit Service Commission and the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission.
The Audit Service Commission is chaired by Kikelomo Arinola Dawodu, with Bukola Ogunnowo, Omotayo Gbajabiamila-Olamona, Bowale Shosimi and Sunday Kappo as members.
The Local Government Service Commission is chaired by Hakeem Bamgbola, alongside Adeyinka Durosinmi, Ahmed Seriki, Shamsideen Olaleye and Folashade Olabanji-Oba.
Addressing the appointees, Sanwo-Olu said their appointments came with greater responsibilities and urged them to ensure that government institutions delivered measurable results to residents.
“These appointments recognise your experience and service, but they also place greater expectations on you,” the governor said.
He stressed that the administration’s vision of a Greater Lagos required a public service capable of translating government policies into practical outcomes that improve residents’ daily lives.
Sanwo-Olu also urged the officials to remain accessible, fair and responsive while carrying out their duties.
Earlier, the Lagos State Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, described the appointments as another milestone in the state’s efforts to promote effective administration and good governance.
Agoro said the appointees were prepared to contribute to the development of the state’s public service, adding that their appointments reflected the government’s commitment to meritocracy, professionalism, transparency and accountability.
The newly sworn-in officials thanked the governor for the appointments and pledged to discharge their responsibilities effectively.
