Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commended the Mountain Top Chorale of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) for its success at the 14th World Choir Games in Helsingborg, Sweden.

Sanwo-Olu spoke during a homecoming and thanksgiving dinner organised by MFM on September 13 to celebrate the choir’s international achievement.

The governor expressed pride in the chorale’s performance and commended the church for nurturing musical talents and providing an environment where young people could develop their abilities.

He also thanked the MFM leadership for organising the celebration, saying he was pleased to be part of the event.

The Mountain Top Chorale emerged overall champion of the 2026 World Choir Games after winning gold in the Spiritual Category with 87.38 points. The choir also won the Champions Competition, the highest category of the international choral contest.

The achievement was celebrated during the thanksgiving event, which featured musical performances and tributes to the chorale’s members and leadership.

The event was attended by Sanwo-Olu’s wife, Dr Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, alongside MFM leaders, members and other guests.

The 2026 World Choir Games brought together choirs from different countries in Helsingborg, with participants competing across various musical categories.

The Mountain Top Chorale’s performance earned recognition for Nigeria on the international choral stage and was celebrated by the MFM community as a reflection of discipline, dedication, teamwork and musical excellence.
