Police Arrest 11 Suspects in Ogun, Recover Stolen Vehicles, Firearms
Ogun Police Command says it arrested 11 suspects and recovered stolen vehicles, firearms, ATM cards and other items during operations across the state.
The Ogun State Police Command says it has arrested 11 suspects and recovered two suspected stolen vehicles, three firearms and 25 Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards during operations conducted across the state between September 16 and 26.
The command also said eight vehicles were impounded for obstructing traffic during a “No Parking” enforcement operation around the Sagamu Interchange Bridge.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, saying the operations were conducted under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Mr Bode Ojajuni.
He said detectives attached to the Owode Egba Division recovered a stolen commercial TVS motorcycle at Mokoloki Village on September 17 following a complaint.
Two suspects, Rasheed Abdul and Saula Meshinoye, were arrested in connection with the alleged theft, while another suspect, identified as Saheed, remained at large.
In another operation, operatives of the Olorunda Division intercepted three persons along Ayetoro Road on September 19 while they were allegedly transporting stolen electrical materials on a motorcycle.
Two suspects, Mutiu Gafar, 19, and Fatai Obasanmi, 37, were arrested, while another suspect, Tosin, escaped.
Recovered items included bundles of electrical wiring, a change-over electrical box and a circuit breaker box, which the police said were allegedly stolen from a residence.

The Igbesa Division also arrested Ameachine Anthony, 45, on September 22 over an alleged N2.5 million fraud. Police said 25 ATM cards and several mobile phones were recovered from him.
According to the command, preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect allegedly used newly acquired SIM cards and associates to facilitate bank accounts before collecting ATM cards for fraudulent transactions.
The suspect and exhibits were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
Also on September 22, SWAT operatives arrested Peter Olanrewaju, 34, following information about a suspected cult-related gathering.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Adebayo Sodiq, 36, with the recovery of one pump-action rifle and two locally made pistols.
The police also reported the recovery of a Safira vehicle allegedly taken from its owner and the arrest of Olatunji Olalekan following investigation and intelligence gathering by detectives of the Ijebu-Ode Area Crime Office.
