Poco Lee’s Management Denies Drink-Spiking Claims, Urges Public to Await Court Verdict
The management of Nigerian dancer and singer Poco Lee has denied reports linking the entertainer’s ongoing UK sexual assault case to allegations of drink spiking. The team said the claims are not part of the allegations before the court and urged the public not to treat unproven allegations as established facts.
The management of Nigerian dancer and singer, Poco Lee, has denied reports of drink spiking linked to the sexual assault case involving the entertainer in the United Kingdom.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Aug. 25, the management confirmed that the matter was currently before a UK court and urged the public to allow the legal process to run its course.
The team stressed that Poco Lee had not been convicted of any offence and cautioned against presenting allegations as established facts.
It said reports alleging that drinks were spiked were not contained in the allegations currently before the court.
The management urged the media and members of the public to refrain from introducing details that were not part of the actual case, warning that such reports could fuel misinformation and unfairly prejudice those involved. (Vanguard News)
Reports of Poco Lee’s arrest in the UK emerged on Aug. 19, with reports linking his detention to a sexual assault allegation.
Separately, a Texas-based Nigerian rapper, Ms Jorji, made allegations against Poco Lee in videos shared online, claiming that he attempted to sexually assault her and her girlfriend about two years ago during a visit to his home in Dallas.
However, those allegations have not been independently verified by a court or law enforcement agency, and no connection has been established between them and the ongoing UK case. (Vanguard News)
Poco Lee, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, rose to prominence after appearing in Zlatan Ibile’s “Zanku (Legwork)” music video in 2018.
He has since worked with several leading Nigerian artistes, including Davido, Burna Boy, Olamide and Naira Marley.
His management said further information concerning the case would be communicated through official channels, while urging the public to exercise patience and restraint as the legal proceedings continue. (Vanguard News)
