PDP Urges Nigerians to Keep Hope Alive at 66
The Peoples Democratic Party has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, united and committed to building a better country despite economic and social challenges.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Nigerians to keep hope alive, embrace unity and remain committed to building a better country as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.
The party, in a statement marking the anniversary, said the occasion provided an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the country’s journey since independence and renew their commitment to national development.
The PDP acknowledged the resilience, courage and determination of Nigerians in the face of economic and social difficulties confronting the country.
It said many citizens were struggling with rising living costs, declining purchasing power and other economic pressures, which it attributed to policies of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government and Lagos State Government.
Despite the challenges, the party urged Nigerians not to lose hope in the country or allow political, ethnic, religious and regional differences to weaken national unity.
It called for greater tolerance, compassion and responsible citizenship, while urging citizens to reject hatred, division and attempts to exploit existing differences.
The PDP said Nigeria needed a society where justice, democratic values, economic opportunities, security and human dignity were accessible to all citizens.
It also urged Nigerians to participate actively in the democratic process and use their voices and constitutional rights to shape the country’s future.
The party reaffirmed its faith in Nigerians and expressed hope that the country would continue to prosper as one united nation.
It called on citizens to remain peaceful and committed to building a Nigeria in which all Nigerians could enjoy greater opportunities, security and dignity.
