PDP Presidential Aspirant Onor Clears Screening, Touts Legislative and Executive Experience
A presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Professor Sandy Onor, has successfully scaled the party’s screening process ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence in his chances of securing the party’s ticket.
Speaking after the screening exercise, Onor emphasized his years of experience in both the legislative and executive arms of government, describing himself as a capable leader prepared to contribute to Nigeria’s development.
The former senator stated that his political background and governance experience place him in a strong position to address the country’s economic, security, and social challenges if given the opportunity to lead.
According to him, Nigeria requires leadership driven by competence, accountability, and national unity rather than division and political sentiment. He also stressed the need for policies that would improve the economy, create jobs, and strengthen democratic institutions.
Party officials reportedly commended aspirants for complying with the screening process and urged all contestants to maintain discipline and support whoever eventually emerges as the PDP candidate for the presidential election.
Political observers say the PDP screening exercise signals increasing political activity within major parties as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify nationwide. Analysts also note that internal competition among aspirants could shape the future direction of the opposition party.
