Oyebanji Urges Muslims to Back Tinubu’s Re-Election
Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji has urged Muslims in the state to support President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, citing the Federal Government’s interventions in Ekiti.
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has urged Muslim faithful in the state to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.
Oyebanji made the call during an engagement with Muslim leaders in the state, urging them to support the President based on what he described as his administration’s interventions in Ekiti.
The governor has previously highlighted Federal Government support for projects in the state, including road construction and the completion of the Ekiti Airport.
He also commended the Muslim community for its support for his administration and for promoting religious harmony in the state.
Oyebanji said his administration remained committed to peaceful coexistence, inclusive governance and the welfare of residents, while urging Muslim leaders to continue supporting efforts aimed at developing the state.
The governor’s appeal comes ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with various political groups and leaders already mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election.
In September, the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s Director-General, Abdul’aziz Yari, also called for increased support for Tinubu in the North, while a group of Muslim women scholars and preachers from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory endorsed the President for a second term.
Oyebanji urged the Muslim community to remain actively involved in the political process and continue contributing to peace and development in Ekiti State.
