Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Olubiyi Fadeyi, has flagged off a 7.5 MVA power transformer substation project and commenced construction of a two-kilometre road in Ila-Orangun, Osun State.

The road will provide access to the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital in the town. Fadeyi also said work had commenced on a five-kilometre solar-powered streetlight project linking Otan-Ayegbaju to Ila-Orangun.

The senator made this known in a statement personally made available to journalists in Osogbo on Monday, saying the projects were among several interventions being implemented across the 10 local government areas in Osun Central.

He said he had earlier inspected completed projects, including Open University Community Centres in Ifon-Osun and Oke-Ila, as well as the construction of two blocks of 16 shops at a market mall in Inisa.

Fadeyi also inspected four-block classroom projects at Ota-Efun Community Grammar School in Olorunda Local Government Area and Anglican Grammar School, Iree, in Boripe Local Government Area.

He said more projects would commence across the senatorial district by November, adding that the 2027 election would not distract him from ongoing projects.

According to him, the projects were selected after consultations with residents of the communities where they were located.

Fadeyi urged politicians to create avenues for regular engagement with their constituents to identify and address the needs of their communities.

On his political future, the senator, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, said voters would assess politicians based on their antecedents rather than promises.
