Osun Poll: Oyebamiji Congratulates Adeleke, Says APC Will Pursue Justice

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his reported victory while declaring that the party will pursue justice through lawful means.

Oyebamiji, in a statement reacting to the election outcome, acknowledged Adeleke’s success but maintained that the APC had concerns about the conduct and outcome of the poll.

The APC candidate said his decision to congratulate the governor-elect was guided by respect for democratic values and the need to preserve peace across the state.

He, however, assured his supporters that the party would not abandon its concerns over the election, saying available legal channels would be explored to seek redress.

According to Oyebamiji, the APC would carefully review the results and circumstances surrounding the election before determining its next steps.

He urged party supporters and residents to remain calm and peaceful, stressing that the pursuit of justice should be conducted within the provisions of the law.

The APC candidate also thanked members of the party, campaign teams, political leaders and supporters who worked throughout the election period.

He expressed appreciation to voters who supported his candidacy and described their participation as an important contribution to the democratic process in Osun State.

Oyebamiji said the election was not merely about an individual candidate but about the future direction of the state and the interests of its people.

He maintained that the APC would continue to defend the interests of its supporters while respecting the institutions established to resolve electoral disputes.

The development comes amid heightened political activity in Osun following the governorship election, with attention now shifting to the legal and political implications of the results.

Oyebamiji’s position effectively combines recognition of Adeleke’s victory with the APC’s intention to seek clarification and possible redress over areas it considers contentious.

He called on his supporters to avoid actions that could threaten the peace and stability of the state, urging them to remain law-abiding while the party considers its options.

The APC candidate also thanked the people of Osun State for participating in the electoral process and urged political actors to place the interests of residents above partisan differences.

Adeleke, meanwhile, is expected to continue preparations for the next phase of his administration following the outcome of the election.

The APC’s planned legal action could lead to further scrutiny of the election results, depending on the evidence and grounds eventually presented before the appropriate authorities.

Oyebamiji said the party would remain committed to democracy and would pursue justice through lawful and constitutional means.

He reiterated that while he had congratulated Adeleke, the APC would not compromise its responsibility to protect the mandate entrusted to it by its supporters.
