Osimhen, Haaland Strongest In The World — Jesus
Gabriel Jesus names Victor Osimhen and Erling Haaland among the strongest strikers in world football today.
Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has identified Nigeria international Victor Osimhen and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland as two of the strongest forwards in world football.
Jesus made the comments while discussing the physical demands of playing against some of the game’s most powerful attackers.
According to the Brazilian, Osimhen and Haaland stand out for their combination of physical strength, pace and ability to compete against defenders.
Osimhen is known for his athleticism, movement and aerial ability, while Haaland has built a reputation as one of Europe’s most physically imposing centre-forwards.
Jesus said facing physically strong attackers requires defenders to remain alert and prepare for intense battles throughout a match.
Osimhen has established himself as one of Africa’s leading forwards, having enjoyed a successful spell in Italy before moving to Galatasaray. His performances for both club and country have made him one of Nigeria’s most prominent footballers.
Haaland, meanwhile, has continued to score consistently for Manchester City since joining the Premier League club from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.
Jesus also spoke about the qualities required to succeed as a modern striker, including movement, finishing, strength and the ability to create opportunities under pressure.
His assessment places Osimhen alongside Haaland among the forwards he considers particularly difficult to deal with physically.
The comments come as both Osimhen and Haaland continue to play important roles for their respective clubs and national teams.
Osimhen remains a key player for Nigeria, while Haaland continues to lead Manchester City’s attack and represent Norway internationally.
Jesus’ remarks have also drawn attention because of his own experience playing at the highest level of European football and competing against elite forwards.
The comparison highlights the different qualities that can make a striker effective, with physical power, pace, positioning and finishing all playing important roles in modern football.
