Ondo Senator Expresses Confidence in Tinubu’s 2027 Victory
Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire said he expected President Bola Tinubu to win the 2027 presidential election, despite internal disagreements within the APC in some states.
Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, Adeniyi Adegbonmire, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the February 20, 2027, presidential election.
Adegbonmire, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said internal disagreements arising from the party’s recent primaries would be resolved before the election. He spoke with journalists at Akure Airport on Monday after being received by party members and supporters from Ondo Central.
The senator said disagreements among party members following primary elections were normal and would not prevent the APC from working together ahead of the general election.
He recalled that similar disagreements occurred during his own election three years ago but said he subsequently won, adding that party members would reconcile and unite before the 2027 poll.
Adegbonmire also defended the Tinubu administration, saying the President had made progress during his first three years in office.
He criticised proposals to restore fuel subsidies, arguing that the issue should be considered alongside the ability of government to pay salaries and fund public services.
The senator said he expected APC members and supporters in Ondo State to remain united and work towards the party’s objectives in the forthcoming elections.
His comments come amid ongoing political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections, with parties and political groups mobilising supporters and addressing internal disagreements.
