A coalition of labour leaders in Ondo State under the aegis of Labour for Good Governance has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.

The endorsement was made during a programme organised by the Asiwaju Mandate Group in Akure, where veteran labour figures expressed support for the President’s administration.

The President of Labour for Good Governance in Ondo State and former Nigeria Labour Congress Vice-President, Solomon Adelegan, described the Tinubu administration as the most worker-friendly in recent history.

Adelegan commended the administration’s infrastructure and road construction efforts, as well as reforms in passport processing under the Ministry of Interior.

He said Nigerians could now obtain passports within one or two weeks, compared with longer waiting periods in the past.

Former NLC Chairman in Ondo State, Bosede Daramola, also praised the administration’s removal of fuel subsidy, arguing that increased allocations to state governments had improved their ability to pay salaries and meet other obligations.

Daramola further commended the government’s approach to security and infrastructure, saying the achievements influenced the group’s decision to support Tinubu’s re-election.

The Director-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, said the endorsement was voluntary, insisting that the labour leaders supported the President because of what they considered the administration’s achievements.

The group also pledged to mobilise support for Tinubu across Ondo State’s 18 local government areas ahead of the 2027 election.

Asagunla said the group was also working to increase voter participation in the state through voter education, noting that Ondo has about two million registered voters but typically records between 400,000 and 500,000 voters during elections.
