Ondo Council Chair Gifts Educational Materials to 1,000 Pupils
The chairman of Akoko South-West Local Government Area, Ayo Ajana, has donated educational materials to 1,000 indigent pupils as part of efforts to support basic education in the council.
The Chairman of Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Mr Ayo Ajana, has distributed educational materials to 1,000 indigent pupils in the council area.
The donation included 30,000 exercise books and 1,000 school bags, aimed at supporting pupils and reducing the burden of educational expenses on families.
Ajana said the intervention was part of his administration’s efforts to promote education and improve learning conditions for children across the local government.
He noted that access to basic learning materials remained important to pupils’ academic development, particularly for children from less privileged homes.
The council chairman urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the materials and remain committed to their studies.
He also called on parents and guardians to support their children’s education, stressing that investment in young people was essential to the future development of the community.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, saying the materials would assist them in their studies and ease some of the challenges associated with obtaining basic school supplies.
The initiative is expected to complement efforts by the government and other stakeholders to improve access to quality basic education in the local government area.
