Ogun PDP Deputy Governorship Candidate Promises Inclusive Governance
Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo has promised that a PDP administration in Ogun State would protect the interests of residents regardless of their political affiliations if the party wins the 2027 governorship election.
The Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deputy governorship candidate, Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, has pledged inclusive governance and equal treatment for residents irrespective of their political affiliations if the party secures victory in the 2027 election.
Sowunmi-Kolapo gave the assurance during a party meeting in Abeokuta South, where she urged residents and opposition supporters not to fear a possible PDP victory.
She said political differences should not undermine relationships among the people of Ogun State, adding that a PDP-led administration would prioritise the welfare of all residents.
The deputy governorship candidate maintained that her commitment to public service and the interests of the people predated her involvement in partisan politics.
She also called on voters to support PDP candidates across elective positions, from the National Assembly to the State House of Assembly, to strengthen the party’s chances in the coming election.
The party’s Deputy State Chairman, Biodun Ogunremi, urged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation through door-to-door campaigns and direct engagement with residents.
Ogunremi said the party believed residents were dissatisfied with prevailing economic conditions and encouraged members to communicate its message across communities in the state.
He urged party supporters to remain committed to the mobilisation effort ahead of the 2027 polls.
Sowunmi-Kolapo was unveiled as the running mate to the PDP governorship candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu, in June 2026.
