ODC Bringing Ogoni Back to Mainstream of National Development — Baridam

The Ogoni Development Commission, ODC, has said it is committed to bringing Ogoni back to the mainstream of national development.

The commission stated this while outlining its vision for the development of the Ogoni area and efforts to address longstanding challenges affecting communities in the region.

According to ODC leadership, the commission’s mandate is centred on promoting sustainable development, improving infrastructure and creating opportunities that would enhance the wellbeing of people in Ogoni.

The commission also stressed the importance of collaboration among government institutions, traditional rulers, community leaders, development partners and other stakeholders in achieving meaningful progress.

It said the development of Ogoni required a coordinated approach that addressed both immediate needs and long-term economic opportunities.

The commission further emphasised the need to ensure that development projects directly benefit local communities and contribute to improving living standards.

The ODC said it would continue engaging relevant stakeholders to attract investment and support projects capable of transforming the region.

It expressed optimism that sustained implementation of its development agenda would help reposition Ogoni and strengthen its contribution to Nigeria’s economic and social development.
