Nollywood Actress Nimmy Ferrari Dies Days Before Planned Housewarming Party

Nollywood actress and social media influencer Nimmy Ferrari has died, just days before she was set to hold a housewarming party for a newly completed home, according to a fellow actress who broke the news online.

Nimmy's colleague, actress Oluwakemisola Apesin, popularly known as Kemity, announced the death on Instagram, writing: "Everybody is back home we left only you IDERA Nimmyferrari it is well."

According to unconfirmed reports circulating on social media, Nimmy underwent fibroid surgery but developed complications that ultimately led to her death. As of the time of this report, her family had not confirmed the exact circumstances surrounding her passing, and the claims linking her death to the surgery remain unverified.

Nimmy had recently completed construction on her house and was preparing to host a housewarming celebration in the coming days at the time of her death. Videos circulating online showed a large crowd gathered at the newly built home, with workers seen digging a grave on the compound in preparation for her burial, a practice not uncommon within some Nigerian communities for burials held at a family or personal residence.

The news of Nimmy's death adds to a string of recent losses within Nigeria's entertainment industry, coming roughly a week after the death of fellow Nollywood actress Atinuke Kareem was similarly reported, and about a month after actress Temitope Osoba died following a battle with cancer.

The circumstances surrounding Nimmy's death also come amid a separate, unrelated controversy involving another Nollywood actress, Ruth Kadiri, who was recently forced to publicly dismiss false reports claiming that she had died or been involved in an accident. Kadiri addressed the false rumours on her own Instagram page after discovering that several impersonating social media accounts, reportedly between seven and eight in total, had been created specifically to spread the misinformation about her death. She urged her followers and members of the public who encounter such posts to report the accounts responsible for circulating the false claims.

As tributes and reactions continue to circulate online following news of Nimmy Ferrari's death, further details regarding the actual cause of death and funeral arrangements are expected to emerge once her family issues an official statement.
