NiMet forecasts thunderstorms and moderate rains across Nigeria, urging residents to take precautions against strong winds.
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast thunderstorms, cloudy conditions and moderate rainfall across several parts of Nigeria from Monday to Wednesday.
The weather outlook released by the agency indicated that different regions would experience varying levels of rainfall and thunderstorms during the three-day period, with residents advised to take precautions against possible strong winds accompanying the storms.

In the North-Central region, cloudy conditions are expected in the morning, followed by isolated thunderstorms and moderate rainfall over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi, Niger and Plateau states.
The southern region is expected to experience cloudy conditions with chances of light rain in parts of Ebonyi, Enugu, Cross River and Akwa Ibom. Intermittent moderate rainfall is expected across most parts of the region later in the day.
On Tuesday, NiMet forecast morning thunderstorms and light rain over parts of Borno, Gombe, Bauchi, Yobe, Taraba and Adamawa states, with thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall expected across much of the northern region later in the day.
The agency also forecast thunderstorms and moderate rainfall across parts of the North-Central region, including Benue, Kogi, Plateau and Nasarawa.
In the South, thunderstorms and moderate rainfall are expected across several states, including Ekiti, Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Edo, Enugu, Abia, Ebonyi, Imo, Anambra, Lagos, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Rivers.
For Wednesday, NiMet predicted morning thunderstorms and moderate rainfall over parts of Taraba, Borno, Adamawa, Bauchi and Gombe, with thunderstorms and moderate rains expected across most parts of the northern region later in the day.
The agency also forecast thunderstorms and moderate rainfall across the North-Central region and intermittent moderate rains across the southern region.
NiMet warned that strong winds could precede thunderstorms and advised residents to secure loose objects, avoid driving during heavy rainfall and disconnect electrical appliances during thunderstorms.
It also urged residents to stay away from tall trees because of the risk of falling branches and advised airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports for effective flight planning.
