Nigeria’s Junior Female Yellow Greens have secured back-to-back qualification for the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup after edging Zimbabwe by four runs in the African qualifier in Tanzania.
Nigeria, after winning the toss and electing to bat, posted 98 runs for six wickets in 20 overs.
Zimbabwe were then bowled out for 94 with one delivery remaining, as Nigeria held on for a narrow victory.
The result secured Nigeria’s place alongside South Africa as Africa’s representatives at the 2027 ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Nepal and Bangladesh.
The Junior Female Yellow Greens had earned their maiden World Cup appearance in 2025 after defeating Zimbabwe in the African qualifier.
Nigeria went on to finish sixth at the 2025 World Cup in Malaysia, making the latest qualification the team’s second consecutive appearance at the global tournament.
