Newcastle Extend Unbeaten Run, Fight Back to Draw Bournemouth
Newcastle United came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Bournemouth, extending their unbeaten start under manager Matthias Jaissle.
Newcastle United recovered from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Bournemouth at St James’ Park, maintaining their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
Bournemouth took the lead in the eighth minute through Marcus Tavernier before Newcastle defender Malick Thiaw inadvertently turned the ball into his own net to double the visitors’ advantage.
Newcastle responded before half-time when Harvey Barnes pulled one back with a powerful strike in the 37th minute.
The hosts continued to press after the break and were rewarded in the 88th minute when substitute Jacob Ramsey scored to complete the comeback.
The draw preserved Jaissle’s unbeaten start as Newcastle manager, while Bournemouth remain without a Premier League victory under Marco Rose.
Newcastle now have five points from their opening three league matches, having also drawn with Liverpool and defeated Tottenham.
