Newcastle Extend Lewis Hall Contract Until 2031
Newcastle United have extended Lewis Hall’s contract until 2031, securing the England defender amid reported interest from Manchester United.
Newcastle United have extended defender Lewis Hall’s contract until the summer of 2031, securing the long-term future of the England international.
Hall, 22, joined Newcastle from Chelsea in 2023, initially on loan before completing a permanent move for a reported £35 million.
The left-back has established himself as an important member of Newcastle’s squad and has started the new campaign strongly under head coach Matthias Jaissle.
Manchester United had shown interest in Hall during the summer transfer window, with the player reportedly identified as a potential long-term replacement for Luke Shaw. Newcastle, however, made it clear that he was not available for transfer.
The new agreement adds two years to Hall’s previous contract and is expected to make him one of Newcastle’s highest-paid players.
Hall said he was delighted to continue at St James’ Park, highlighting his family connection with the club and his desire to make the supporters proud.
The defender has also attracted renewed attention from England manager Thomas Tuchel following his impressive performances for Newcastle.
The contract extension forms part of Newcastle’s wider strategy of securing key young players on long-term deals as the club builds under Jaissle.
