The National Universities Commission has approved 34 undergraduate programmes for the Federal University of Science and Technology, Epe, allowing the institution to begin admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session, with a combined quota of 1,700 students.
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 34 undergraduate degree programmes for the Federal University of Science and Technology (FUSTECH), Epe, Lagos State, paving the way for the institution to admit its pioneer students for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The approval followed a resource verification exercise conducted by panels of experts to assess the human and material resources available for the proposed programmes. The commission conveyed its decision in a letter dated October 23, 2026.
According to the university, the approved programmes will be offered on a full-time basis at its take-off campuses. Each programme has an approved admission quota of 50 students, bringing the total capacity for the 34 programmes to 1,700 undergraduates.
The programmes are distributed across five faculties: Computing and Informatics, Engineering, Allied Health Sciences, Management Sciences and Technology, and Science.
The Faculty of Computing and Informatics will offer Computer Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Communication Technology and Software Engineering.
The Faculty of Engineering has received approval for 10 programmes, including Geomatics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

The university said the approval marked an important step towards commencing undergraduate education and beginning its first admission exercise. Prospective students have been advised to monitor the institution’s official website for updates on the admission process and the opening of its admission portal.
FUSTECH, Epe, was established in November 2025 as part of efforts to expand access to specialised science and technology education in Nigeria.
The NUC approval currently covers full-time programmes. Any proposed part-time programmes would require a separate application and approval from the commission.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Kazeem Adeola Oshikoya welcomed the development and expressed the university’s readiness to commence its inaugural admission process.
