NDC Spokesperson Urges Removal Of Content Creators Posing As Activists
New Democratic Congress spokesperson, Theo Agada, has called on the party leadership to remove what he described as opportunistic content creators masquerading as activists, accusing some of using political activism for personal interests ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The spokesperson for the New Democratic Congress, Theo Agada, has urged the party leadership to remove what he described as opportunistic content creators posing as activists.
Agada made the call in a post on X on Saturday while reacting to a video shared by a content creator identified as Flag Boy NG.
In the video, the content creator, wearing a shirt associated with the Obidient Movement, displayed political flags and materials linked to Peter Obi, the NDC before removing the shirt and setting the items on fire.
Agada accused some content creators of using activism to pursue personal interests, particularly in relation to campaign donations and leadership of independent political movements.
He questioned the motivation behind what he described as internal struggles among the various micro-movements within the broader opposition political space.
Agada's comments come as political parties and movements intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The NDC has emerged as one of the political platforms attracting supporters of former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi.
The circumstances surrounding Flag Boy NG's action, including whether it represented a formal decision to leave the NDC, were not independently established.
The development has continued to generate reactions among supporters of Obi, the NDC and other opposition movements.
