NCoS Assures Staff of Osun Election Allowance Payment

The Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, has assured personnel who participated in the recent Osun State election that their outstanding election duty allowances will be paid.

The assurance followed concerns among some officers over delays in receiving payments for their participation in election duties.

The Service said arrangements were being made to ensure that eligible personnel receive the allowances due to them.

The NCoS explained that the payment process involves verification and other administrative procedures to ensure that only personnel who participated in the election and are entitled to the allowances are paid.

It urged affected officers to remain patient while the process is concluded.

The Service said staff welfare remained a priority and assured personnel that their legitimate entitlements would not be denied.

The NCoS had previously faced concerns over delays in the payment of election-duty allowances to personnel deployed for electoral assignments. In 2023, for instance, the Service assured officers involved in election duties that their allowances would be paid, with payments subsequently commencing.

The latest assurance is expected to ease concerns among NCoS personnel who took part in securing the Osun election and are still awaiting their allowances.
