Miyetti Allah Seeks Tinubu’s Intervention Over Leader’s Detention

Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the continued detention of its national leader, Abdullahi Bello Bodejo.

The appeal was made by the association’s North-Central Chairman, Idris Bebeji, during a press conference in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The group also called on the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi; the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, and relevant security agencies to assist in securing Bodejo’s release.

Bebeji described Bodejo as a prominent advocate for the Fulani pastoralist community who had contributed to peaceful coexistence, national unity and the welfare of pastoralist communities.

He said the continued detention had generated concern among Bodejo’s family, associates, supporters and members of the wider pastoralist community.

According to Bebeji, Bodejo was arrested by the Department of State Services in Jalingo, Taraba State, while preparing to declare his intention to contest for the Taraba Central senatorial seat.

He said Bodejo was subsequently handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and spent almost four months in detention before being released after reportedly fulfilling his release conditions.

Bebeji alleged that Bodejo was later rearrested by DSS operatives on August 28, 2026.

The association said it recognised the constitutional responsibilities of security and law enforcement agencies and was not seeking to obstruct any lawful investigation.

It urged the authorities to ensure that any investigation or prosecution involving Bodejo is handled fairly, expeditiously and in accordance with the Constitution and applicable laws.
