MEXC Launches RealStocks API With 0 Commissions for Quantitative Traders

Cryptocurrency exchange MEXC has launched its RealStocks API, a new tool designed to allow quantitative traders to automate trading strategies for US equities.

The company said the API gives eligible users programmatic access to its RealStocks product, enabling them to create and execute customised trading strategies automatically.

RealStocks was launched by MEXC in partnership with regulated broker Atomic Vaults Securities, allowing eligible users to purchase real shares of publicly listed US companies using USDT.

MEXC said the product currently provides access to more than 7,000 US stocks and exchange-traded funds.

Unlike tokenised stock products, RealStocks represents direct ownership of the underlying shares, including applicable shareholder rights and dividend entitlements.

The newly launched API is particularly targeted at quantitative traders who use algorithms and automated systems to analyse markets and execute trades according to predefined strategies.

MEXC said the API comes with zero commissions, making it possible for users to automate their equity trading without paying a platform commission on RealStocks transactions.

However, the zero-commission offer does not necessarily mean that all trading costs are eliminated. Other charges, including SEC transaction fees, FINRA activity fees, clearing costs and exchange-related fees, may still apply.

The launch represents a further expansion of MEXC beyond cryptocurrency trading as digital-asset platforms increasingly seek to provide users with access to traditional financial markets.

MEXC launched RealStocks in July and has since expanded the product with features aimed at improving market access and supporting longer-term investment strategies. The company said more than 120,000 users had opened RealStocks accounts.

The exchange also offers other traditional-finance products, including stock futures and tokenised shares, as it seeks to build a broader multi-asset trading ecosystem.
