Prince Odianosen Okojie, husband of Mercy Johnson, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives seat in Edo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Okojie secured victory during the APC primary election for the Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency, defeating other aspirants to clinch the party’s ticket for the forthcoming polls.
The businessman and politician currently represents the constituency in the House of Representatives and is seeking re-election under the APC platform.
Party supporters and political associates reportedly celebrated the outcome of the primary, describing it as a reflection of confidence in his performance and representation.
The APC primary attracted significant attention within political circles in Edo State due to heightened competition among aspirants ahead of the 2027 elections.
Political stakeholders also commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise while calling on party members to remain united after the primaries.
Observers say the victory further strengthens Okojie’s political influence within the APC as preparations intensify for the next general elections across the country.
