Mbappé Scores as Real Madrid Beat Racing Santander 3-0
Kylian Mbappé converts an early penalty as Real Madrid cruise to victory, with Jude Bellingham and Yan Diomande also on target.
Real Madrid secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Racing Santander at El Sardinero on Sunday, November 1, with Kylian Mbappé opening the scoring in their LaLiga Matchday 11 encounter.
The French forward converted a penalty in the 11th minute after being fouled inside the area by Matteo Prati, giving the visitors an early advantage.
Jude Bellingham doubled Madrid’s lead in the 21st minute, finishing a move involving Mbappé and Arda Güler. The goal was a milestone for the England international, taking his tally to 50 goals for Real Madrid in all competitions.
Madrid extended their advantage before the break when Yan Diomande struck in the 36th minute. The Ivorian forward collected the ball outside the penalty area after a corner was cleared and unleashed a powerful effort into the net.
Racing attempted to respond after the restart, but Madrid maintained control. Mbappé came close to scoring again in the second half, hitting the post, while goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois helped preserve the clean sheet.
The home side briefly appeared to have a chance to reduce the deficit when the referee awarded a penalty for a handball by Aurélien Tchouaméni. However, the decision was overturned following a VAR review.
Bellingham later had another goal ruled out for offside as Madrid saw out the contest to claim their sixth consecutive victory across all competitions.
The result gave Real Madrid three points in their pursuit of LaLiga leaders Barcelona. Madrid moved to 27 points, remaining third behind Barcelona on 30 points and Atlético Madrid on 28.
