Leeds Thrash Newcastle to Go Third in Premier League

Leeds United moved up to third place in the Premier League after recording an emphatic 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at Elland Road on Monday.

The victory gives Leeds eight points from their opening matches and moves them into third position in the Premier League table, four points behind leaders Arsenal.

Calvert-Lewin was one of Leeds’ standout performers, continuing his impressive record against Newcastle and strengthening his claim for renewed England consideration.

The result also represents another encouraging performance for Farke’s side, who have maintained their unbeaten league record while demonstrating considerable attacking confidence.

For Newcastle, the defeat represents a major setback after a promising start under Jaissle. The German manager had overseen an encouraging opening to his tenure, but his side were unable to match Leeds’ pace and intensity at Elland Road.

Newcastle will now look to respond quickly when they return to Premier League action, while Leeds will aim to maintain their strong start when they host Crystal Palace on Sunday.
