The Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Hamzat, has intensified his engagements with Christian communities across the state ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Hamzat disclosed the visits in posts on his X account on Sunday, detailing his engagements with several Christian organisations.

He attended the 19th anniversary celebration of the Love of Christ Generation Church in Oniru, Lagos, describing the church’s years of service and community impact as commendable.

The APC candidate also visited Harvesters International Christian Centre, where he met with the pastor, Bolaji Idowu, and members of the church during the AWAKENING 2026 programme.

Hamzat described the gathering as an opportunity for reflection and hope, saying Lagos could achieve greater progress through unity and adherence to the right values.

During the event, Idowu urged Hamzat to prioritise the welfare of Nigerians if he becomes governor.

The pastor said Nigerians were facing economic difficulties and expressed the hope that whoever emerged as governor would make life easier for residents.

He also called for conditions that would reduce the economic pressures pushing young people towards fraud and women towards survival-driven prostitution.

Idowu further commended Hamzat for his credentials.

Hamzat also met with the leadership of Christ Embassy, led by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

He acknowledged the contribution of faith-based organisations to supporting families, empowering young people and strengthening communities.

Hamzat said meaningful progress would require collective efforts, expressing optimism about the future of Lagos.
