. The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has refunded ₦327,178 each to 500 intending pilgrims preparing for the 2027 Hajj, following a review of payments made towards the pilgrimage.
The refunds form part of the board’s efforts to reconcile pilgrims’ deposits with the approved Hajj fare and ensure that affected applicants receive the appropriate balances.
The exercise is expected to provide financial relief to the beneficiaries as preparations continue for the 2027 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
The board has been coordinating registration, payments and other arrangements for prospective pilgrims in line with the requirements of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
NAHCON previously announced that approved fares for the 2027 Hajj ranged from ₦7.56 million to ₦7.88 million, depending on pilgrims’ departure zones. Pilgrims travelling from the northern zone were expected to pay ₦7,672,822, while those departing from the southern zone would pay ₦7,882,822.
The Kano board has also issued deadlines for registration and documentation to ensure that intending pilgrims meet the requirements for the exercise.
Prospective pilgrims have been advised to comply with official instructions and complete the necessary procedures within the stipulated periods to avoid losing their allocated places.
The refund exercise underscores the importance of reconciling payments and keeping intending pilgrims informed as preparations for the 2027 Hajj progress.
