Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will finally settle their long-running heavyweight rivalry when they meet at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on December 11.

The highly anticipated all-British clash was officially confirmed on Thursday after years of negotiations, speculation and failed attempts to bring the two former world champions into the ring.

The fight will mark the first professional meeting between Joshua and Fury, who have both held world heavyweight titles and remained among the biggest names in British boxing for more than a decade.

Principality Stadium was confirmed as the venue following a prolonged dispute over where the bout should take place. Joshua and his team had pushed for the fight to be staged in the United Kingdom, while other locations, including New York, had been considered during negotiations.

Cardiff ultimately secured the event, with the stadium’s large capacity and retractable roof making it suitable for a major winter boxing event.

Their first official press conference is scheduled for September 30 in London, where the fighters are expected to begin the promotional build-up to the December contest.
